Mike Wallace, trainer and owner of Salmy Kennel has dedicated a lifetime to field bred springers which started with his father almost 60 years ago. As an established breeder since the late 1980s, he has bred ten generations of the Salmy line. Three Salmy dogs that were bred, trained, and campaigned by Mike are in the Hall of Fame. As a professional trainer, he is a six-time National Open High Point winner, a seven-time Martin Hogan Award winner for top trainer of the year, the winner of the 2012 National Open Championship, and has trained approximately 100 champions.
Mike's dedication to this sport has led him to give back as chairman and president of five National Championships. He started the Central Virginia Club in 1989 and, with help from many others, he co-founded the Tennessee Volunteer Club that hosts the HOF trials. He has been chairman of the HOF Springer trials for over 15 years.
