NFC Mickey was a standout competitor - his accomplishments in competition are only surpassed by his continued contribution to the sport through his offspring.

At his peak, Mickey won the 2016 National Retriever Championship - handled by his amateur owner. Mickey had 20 All-Age wins and 180.5 All-Age points. He won a double header in 2017. Trained nine months of the year by his amateur owner and handler, he placed or finished in 80% of the trials he ran, including twelve consecutive trial placements in 2012 and nine in 2016.

Mickey's talent was obvious as he became Qualified All-Age at two years, then won his first Amateur the same year and the following weekend placed second - qualifying him for his first National Amateur. Mickey qualified for eleven National Championship competitions, including the 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017 NRCs and the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017 NARCs. Mickey was a NARC finalist in 2015, 2016, & 2017 and an NRC finalist in 2015 & 2016. Both the AKC and Purina recognized Mickey countless times for his accomplishments.

As a sire, Mickey's contribution the sport is remarkable. His owner received the 2022 AKC Sport Breeder of the Year Award for Retrievers thanks to Mickey's significant contributions as a sire. So far, his progeny from 18 different dams have received 43 FT AKC titles (7 FC-AFC, 12 FC, & 17 AFC). Mickey also has over 112 QAA and 27 QA2 titled offspring from multiple dams. Over 160 hunt test titles and six GRHRC titled dogs from 25 dams. 40 are on the derby list with 17 different dams. Together they have 1,003 All-Age points (including 109 wins and 832 All-Age finishes), 681 derby points (including 67 wins and 445 finishes) and 1,427+ hunt test passes. 31 of Mickey's offspring have qualified for a National Championship competition and seven have been finalists. Mickey's offspring were awarded the 2022 #1, #2, & #3 High Point Open Dog, 2022 Outstanding Open Dog, and #1, #3, & #5 2022 Purina Top Open Dog.

In addition to a fierce competitive streak, desire to win, and strong bloodlines, Mickey loved spending time duck hunting and at home with his owner. His owner's granddaughter has fond memories of competition with him in his early years. Mickey was the ultimate competitor and companion - simply the best!
