NATIONAL FIELD TRIAL CHAMPIONS 1967-1987 by William S. Smith
The long wait is finally over! The much-anticipated continuation of William F. Brown and Nash Buckingham's National Field Trial Champions 1896-1955 and William F. Brown's National Field Trial Champions 1956-1966 is here!
From the cover:
The documentation of the National Field Trial Champions began when William F. Brown, Editor of the American Field, and Nash Buckingham together wrote National Field Trial Champions 1896-1955. Mr. Brown later chronicled the champions in the second book of the series 1956-1966. Mr. Brown reported the National for an incredible 48 years and that achievement will never be equaled or surpassed. His reporting arguably ranks among the finest. To continue the Championship series, William Smith was asked to document the history of the National Champions 1967-1987. Mr. Brown once told a young reported, Mazie Davis, that there was something good about every dog even if it was only his name. By researching and investigating these twenty-one National Champions, William has endeavored to portray the good things about the people and the dogs that reached the pinnacle of field trials when they were crowned National Champions. It is his hope that this book will enlighten, entertain, and enrich your understanding of these past great champions.
