The Museum contains an exquisite display of Count
Noble, the Llewellin Setter which is considered the great progenitor of
several winning Field Trial setters in this country. The exhibit was
donated to the National Bird Dog Museum by the Carnegie Museum in
Philadelphia, PA in 1999. Count Noble was whelped August, 1879 and died
January, 1891. |

The
Museum’s Taxidermy Room is a favorite for class field trips. Pictured
here is a portion of the taxidermy room showing a wall mural by Tennessee
artist Mary Spellings and mounted specimens of Birds of Prey, Bobcat, and
Coyote, etc. |

”Missing
the Master” is the title of this life-sized bronze statue of an
English Springer Spaniel which is one of the newest additions to the front
grounds of the Museum. The statue was commissioned to memorialize
former Bird Dog Foundation Board of Director Member, Mr. Henry Henriques,
from Orr, Minnesota, who served as a board member for six years. Mr.
Henriques passed away in 2003. The statue, created by artist Walter
Matia, was dedicated February 9, 2008 during the Field Trial Hall of Fame
activities. |
